Description
For sale is this very sweet little DKW F11 Junior deluxe saloon, the subject of a bare metal restoration and complete refurbishment following many many years in dry storage in the UK. As one of 47 cars now residing in a private collection but for sale due to rationalising prior to impending retirement, this gorgeous, genuine and original RHD (right hand drive) UK spec car was selected for its rarity, it?s high build quality and it?s lovely little three cylinder, two-stroke 798cc engine and column change manual, 4 speed gearbox.
Finished in Olive Green, its original factory colour, and re-trimmed in an original specification off white vinyl, with original rubber floor mats and de-luxe wooden dashboard panels and door cappings, this little gem has recently completed a week long tour of Ireland as part of an Owners Club event, where it performed faultlessly and brought smiles to its drivers and to hundreds of other people along the way.
With perfect mechanicals needing nothing by way of work or immediate maintenance, and with everything in excellent condition, this car would make a fantastic entry level classic or would grace any collection of vehicles of significant engineering interest, the backbone of its current status in our private collection.
With front wheel drive, inboard disc brakes, light steering, a wonderful and sweet engine and huge all-round visibility due to its large glass area, the DKW F11 is an absolute joy to own and drive.
New to the market and available to someone who will appreciate engineering integrity, simplicity and a ready-to-be-enjoyed motor car from 1961, enquiries are welcome. Export and transport can be arranged if required. We bought this car via a deceased estate simply because we loved its backstory and its potential as a sweet UK original survivor from days gone by, designed and built by an innovative motor manufacturer called DKW that today represents one of the famous four rings of the AUDI brand, reflecting the four separate companies that merged to become the German giant we know today. When we stumbled upon the car by way of happenstance, the bodyshell had already been totally restored by a professional bodyshop but the customer had passed away before reassembly and payment was completed. We took on the project having a lifetime of experience with such motor cars, and we undertook a sympathetic restoration and/ or checking of every component prior to a total refit.
Any future owner will benefit from knowing that there are no gremlins, hidden problems or nightmares to contend with, together with the certainty that every single nut and bolt has received the attention of DKW marque experts.
