R80ST Converted to off-road GS spec with the following upgrades:
R80GS Forks & headstock with new Hyperpro springs
21 inch front wheel
YSS Rear shock
G/ S Sump and large BMW Sump Guard
R80GS tank
Paris Dakar seat and rack
Braided front brake hose
Custom lower footpeg brackets with KTM footpegs and levers adjusted to suit (approx 30mm height reduction)
Tomaselli off-road handlebars
G/ S screen with home made brackets to fit ST headlight
BMW hand guards
Condition is generally good, with the frame having had a very good quality powder coat 3 years ago. However, as you can see from the pic there are some digs and scuffs from off-roading. Main one is the dents in the tank from when I dropped it on a rock, but also on the engine bars and bash plate.
Mechanically it is excellent. It has been my work and travel bike so always needed to be reliable and in top running condition. The only thing not working is the neutral light which needs a new sensor.
The following work has been done in the past 12-15 months:
Gearbox rebuilt by airhead specialist
Bevel drive reshimmed
Swingarm bearings replaced
Head bearings replaced
Carbs rebuilt with all rubbers and jets replaced
New twin coil
Servicing has been regular and I have made a record of when things were done for reference
Tyres are Conti TKC80 which have only 500 miles on them so still fresh.
This bike has been a reliable workhorse and an awesome travel companion, ridden to Albania by me last year and around Ireland by my wife this year. It?ll suit anyone looking for a classic bike ready to use for adventures or Greenlane without having to make modifications or spend time getting it running properly. Alternatively it wouldn?t take much to get tank repaired and make it into a stunning G/ S replica.
