FOR SALE 1965 CAL LOOK VW BEETLE Ex DKP
Highly featured 1965 cal look beetle ?Bluey?. It?s been in magazines over the years, road tripped to So Cal part of the DKP and available now due to relocation abroad.
Author Keith Seume was a previous owner and I have many photos that show it in the USA at ?So. Cal? with the DKP and at the centre of a group DKP photo.
Previous owner detuned to some degree and made the car more pleasant for road use though it retains its thoroughbred feel. Probably one of the best Cal Beetles in the UK with an amazingly rich and well documented history, including video, magazine and several trips to the USA and Europe.
Not many other beetles have as much documented history and magazine time.
Originally from Michigan and built as a drag car, converted to street spec and now drives beautifully.
I am now committed to a move abroad so I must sell. I have only put on a minimal mileage since the last rebuild but the car could benefit from use tbh.

The car drives beautifully, very smooth power delivery, probably the best driving beetle I have driven.
This is one of the few true DKP cars in the UK. Few are the real thing. (Note the DKP badge is fake and will not be included in the sale).

This Cal Beetle is unique in terms of provenance and history. it has crossed the 'pond' several times in its life and it has a history of Drag racing in its former life. It has been very much civilised for road use now though with the cage removed and sound proofing throughout. It retains its performance heritage though with so many features retained from its racing days. Keith Seume owned the car for some years and his experiences with it are well documented. It is a special car but one which I can not enjoy fully as I now spend most of the year abroad. Please contact me for more details.
