I am advertising for sale my Father-in-law Neils immaculate 2008 Defender due to consolidation of vehicles. A usable collectors investment at only 32, 000 miles.
Neil bought the Land Rover 4 years ago as he had always wanted one. Regretfully due to lack of use and the urge to do some more travelling he has decided to let someone else enjoy it.
It is in remarkable condition for a 15 year old Land Rover, as you’d expect with such low mileage and the care it’s received over the last 4 years to maintain said condition.
He is the second owner, the first putting only 20, 000 miles on it over 11 years. It has covered a modest 3000 miles a year in his hands, mostly used for days out around Derbyshire at the weekends. In addition to only 32, 000 miles, it has full service history.
The vehicle has been serviced and MOT tested yearly during Neils ownership at a local Land Rover specialist and it has had four new tyres recently. It was serviced and MOT’d, (with no advisories) most recently in September 2023.
In addition it has been undersealed to keep it corrosion free and the paintwork has been ceramic coated as you can tell by the shimmer in the photographs. It has also had a full compliment of new original light units, headlight surrounds and front grille to brighten up the exterior. 2 small dents, presumably from stones are the only signs it has ever been outside, it really is that clean.
It has some tasteful alterations in order to smarten up whilst emphasising the classic original look. The roof, chequer plate trims and wheels have been painted professionally in gloss black, the wing vents have been replaced with black and silver items. The side bars have been replaced with attractive and functional steps to aid access.
Inside the Land Rover benefits first of all from being incredibly clean and original down to the Land Rover stereo. Useful additions include the cubby box with arm rest, heavy duty rubber matting and a useful luggage rack in the rear (easily removable). The only alteration being the beautiful seat and arm rest retrim which is of excellent quality and the seats are much comfier and more welcoming than with the standard trim. There is a small tear to the floor matting by the passenger seat in an otherwise perfect cabin.
The tow ball isn’t pictured but is provided and in terms of security the vehicle has the original Land Rover alarm and included is a Disklok for the steering wheel and a SafeTPedal cover to lock the pedals in place.
The vehicle has two sets of keys with fobs and the full original book pack with service portfolio. It was serviced by Shukers Land Rover of Shrewsbury from new until 2016 at which point various specialists took over. There are also some receipts and lots of previous MOT sheets.
We would like to see this Land Rover go to a loving home, it has been trouble free and a pleasure to have around. Due to me living 20 miles from Neil it would be appreciated if we were to have no time wasters or no-shows. Having said that a lengthy inspection is welcomed for those seriously interested.
