Hello and welcome to the advert for my original little 1992 Honda Del Sol SiR.
I bought this car in august 2021 to go along side my 1993 Honda Civic VTi Saloon (also silver), they make a lovely pair. Unfortunately no love story lasts forever and an impending house extension requires me to make space and find funds.
I bought it from an elderly couple who had owned it 11 years. It had 2 former keepers previous to that. Its import and registration date is august 1998.
The Del Sol has exceptional service history, most of the credit goes to the previous owner who kept every receipt and logged every penny spent on the vehicle in his ownership. There is even a log of every tank of fuel added with the mpg calculated.
Since I got the car I focused on a few mechanical niggles: the main one being an oil leak from the rocker cover and sump gasket, both of which have been replaced. I also replaced the vtec solenoid gaskets as well as the cam seals and exhaust manifold gasket. I carried out a major service including: fresh coolant, oil and filter, air filter, water pump, timing belt and tensioner pulley (all genuine Honda parts). I fitted a new excedy oem spec clutch, refaced the flywheel for good measure and refitted the gearbox with fresh Honda mtf. It has recently replaced wiper blades, bulbs and the rocker cover has been refinished in the original wrinkle black. All tyres have good tread.
The car has MOT until November 2024, showing 172740km at the time of MOT. It now has 173004 and is now laid up for winter. This car has covered less than 10000km in the in the last 10 years.
This Del Sol is the highest spec SiR offered, with air conditioning (working), front fog lights, TCS, optional 15” hubcaps to name a few of the extras. The electric transtop roof is in working condition and is an extremely cool, very 90s, feature.
The exterior is in excellent condition with no rust. The sills and arches are solid. The paintwork isn’t perfect with a few wear and tear marks, but as you can see from the photos, they are hardly noticeable and doesn’t detract from how great the car looks.
The interior is in good condition and is 99% original. Honda access matts are included. It has a working radio/ cassette player.
It is worth mentioning the few negligible issues with the Del Sol: firstly, the electric aerial does work but doesn’t fully retract, leaving around 5-6” sticking out. The contacts in the indicator are getting tired, it does work but the indicators can be slow to come on. The door cards where your arm would rest has the common delamination issue whereby the material comes away from the moulded plastic door card.
Modifications include: a custom stainless steel exhaust, which still retains the original catalytic converter. An aftermarket gear stick gator and an aftermarket rear fog light for MOT reasons. The car has an aftermarket immobiliser and alarm.
I am reluctant to sell this car and unfortunately the EG9 civic will be sold too. I believe I have priced the car fairly and will ignore silly offers.
