I love a Devon conversion & "Bluey", is a great example, having been owned & very well cared for by the last keeper for the last 24 years. As you can see in the last pictures , it has a massive history folder , which includes the original Volkswagen owners hand book & service book. Added to this it has the original Devon instruction book , explaining all the features, as you can see in the photos, such as the different bed layouts & how the single seat can face either rearwards or forwards, which is fantastic. There are tons of receipts from over the years, offering a great insight into its service history & lots of mot certificates. One key fits all the locks & there are 2 spares. We have a letter from Volkswagen confirming it was built on the 21st June 1972 & was delivered on the 27th to England, for Devon to install their Moonraker interior. This boasts seating for a family of 5 , together with sleeping for 5 if utilising the cab bunk, which I have never seen in a Devon before & it looks like its had very little use, as with the roof bunks , as the fabrics are in very good condition. You can see from the photos the single seat in the rear can face rearwards, for travelling & dining, whilst also moving backwards on its rails & facing forwards for travelling if preferred ? The bed options are great with a low level single & a high level single, so in either position you could still have seats to enjoy. Or you can have a high level double or low level double. If you use the high level double, again you still have the single seat available and room to change inside the bus with the bed in place. You then have the 2 roof bunks and cab bunk as mention earlier. We've just refreshed the original cabinets, by preparing and revarnishing them. We've replaced the flooring with "Harvey Maria", vinyl tiles & Devon Custom Trimming , reupholstered all the rear cushions in a very period looking deep blue soft fabric. Carpets overlay the rubber mats in the cab & the seats have been reupholstered with TMI black basket weave. The final part of the interior refresh are the beautiful vintage style curtains and cushions, which complete the work , which I absolutely love. In 2014 the bus had some restoration work carried out & was resprayed in it original Pastel White L90D & this was complimented with Niagara Blue L53D which still looks lovely today. We also have a receipt from September 2022 for a new 1600cc twin port engine, clutch, silencer etc , which was fitted at 42, 211 miles & has just done approximately 1100 miles since, so fantastic as the engine is just run in. Added to this we've just put it through an mot & had it serviced. So to conclude "Bluey" is a beautiful 1972 Crossover Bay Window T2, so benefits from that cute Early Bay face, but with the benefit of front disc brakes & better cooling. With an almost new engine, new upholstery & flooring, very very clean and tidy. Extensive history file & maintained fastidiously , its on the market £23, 500. We're based in North Devon, close to the beaches & the rolling Exmoor hills, so the perfect place to visit to chose your new classic Volkswagen. We can help with a walkround video & both national or international shipping.
