Continues to be advertised and is still for sale as there are way too many dreamers & time wasters out there who purport to want to buy it, make offers and then vaporise and don’t actually complete the deal they said they wanted to do! Very frustrating and a massive waste of my time and questions the sincerity of people using this website.

Anyway, I still have for sale my 1969 Series 2A 12V GS (General Service & 1 of 68) Lightweight Land Rover.

It was supplied new in 1969 under contract number WV8551 with a military registration of 13 AA 96 and its date of service was 18th April 1969.

It spent most of its service life at RAF Sealand (just outside Queensferry, North Wales) and was disposed of on the 8th March 1983 via a MOD surplus auction at the Ordnance Depot at Ruddington, near Nottingham and appears to have had pretty hard life after that!

It has subsequently been restored and was stripped down to bare metal and rebuilt on a new galvanised Richards chassis along with new bulkhead top panel, new footwells and side panels. Also it was re-galvanised, had a new wiring loom fitted as well as a number of other parts and was finally repainted in RAF Blue Grey which is as it is today.

Post its restoration, the previous owner (who also carried out the restoration) had it featured in Classic Land Rover magazine March 2016 (a copy will be passed on as part of the sale) which details the work undertaken.

I purchased it from Jake Wright Independent Land Rover in April 2019 and it has been sparingly used since then.

It did suffer an engine bay fire in April 2020 & this was repaired via the insurers at an approximate cost of £5, 000 & I have the documents in relation to that.

I am a GRRC Member and it has also been shown at a number of the Goodwood Sunday Breakfast Club meets.

I have it in the garage without the roof on but it will be sold with the sticks and canvass roof.

Most are NATO Green and very few are Series 2A's & come from an RAF background!

My favourite thing is the way people look at it when I'm driving it as they do not see many of these and especially in this colour scheme.
