Description

Autosleeper Talisman Motorhome.

This is one of the ever popular fibreglass monocoque motorhome's by Autosleeper. If you are familiar with these vehicles you will know that the reason for this popularity is due to the GRP shell which is lightweight and does not suffer with the leaking problems associated with conventional coach built motohomes.

At 5. 6 meters this can be parked in a conventional parking space and is a very convenient size for a van with a huge bed, whilst also retaining separate kitchen and toilet/ shower facilities. The huge windows and several skylights also contribute to a feeling of space and light.

This model is very similar to the Autosleeper Executive but is rarer, having the additional flexibility of a side dinette this 4 berth motorhome also has 3 forward facing seats (all with seat belts). With this particular van a 4th seat can be installed, as in addition to the installed passenger captains chair a double bench seat is also available.

In the standard configuration it is quite possible to seat six adults for a meal, which is remarkable for a van less than 6m in length. For sleeping there is a small double bed for one adult or two children over the cab and the main accommodation can be configured as either two singles or a king sized bed. The van has a cassette toilet, shower, 3 way fridge, 4 hobs, a grill and an oven. With a refillable LPG cylinder and heating/ hot water via either gas or electricity, along with a solar system with MPPT controller this is well equipped for both campsites or off grid camping.

The van has a tow bar and a bike rack on the rear. This vehicle is free from rust and has near immaculate alloy wheels all round and with quality Continental tyres. This van has an extensive service history with 14 services over the years. We had planned to keep this van indefinitely and we have future proofed it through meticulous chassis preparation and extensive maintenance over recent years. Maintenance included brakes being rebuilt and suspension work including springs and shocks both front and rear. Air bags were also fitted to the rear making this van handle extremely well.

The clutch was replaced six thousand miles ago in preparation for long distance touring and the gearbox was fully overhauled at the same time. The gearbox was not faulty but it seemed sensible to change any worn syncros and gears whilst the clutch was being replaced.

I have placed into storage a complete set of all suspension components that have not yet been replaced, along with gearbox and engine mounts, master cylinders and various other mechanical components so that they are available at a future date if necessary. These can be made available to the new owner should they want them by separate negotiation.

The main popularity of the monocoque construction is the resistance to water ingress. To ensure this remains the case the two main windows have been removed and resealed and two of the skylights have also been replaced. At the same time the two main window blinds were fitted with brand new correct fitment blinds. The habitation water pump was replaced a couple of years ago and the gas systems were checked by an approved caravan engineer last summer. As you should see this van has been diligently cared for.
