1969 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300

I have covered 25, 000 km in this car over the last 4 years, including trips abroad and long domestic adventures (46, 700 km at purchase – 72, 000 km current), but another Alfa purchase means this one must sadly move on.

The car has been involved in multiple Italian job recreation events, chasing a set of minis and the bus up Shelsley Walsh and Chateau Impney hill climbs, was used at the 2019 Goodwood Revival in the Italian Job film set exhibition, as well as taking an acting role on track at the Jaguar E-Type 60th celebrations chasing e-types round the paddock at Shelsley, and the International Mini Meeting in Bristol.

A LHD car imported in 2002, previously owned by Mcgrath Maserati. Original Italian registration documents present, with photographs of the car with its Italian plates. Car was formerly kitted out in Italy to run on Methane, with 3 giant scuba style tanks in the boot, which I think I still have if so desired… Carbs (twin Solex 40s) were drilled for the methane injection nozzles and never fully sealed, a set of weber 40s are included in the sale (missing choke actuator mechanisms).

It has had a new front half of the near side front wing at some stage in its life, and a respray to some of the car at that point I suspect.

Rust is present on the drivers side door A pillar, and cosmetically bubbling on the boot lid.

Interior has faded and cracked badly in areas most exposed to sunlight i. e. dash and seat tops.

Original 1300 engine was replaced with a 1600 at some point in Italy as well, so this car cruises happily at motorway speeds (+!)

In my ownership, over £2000 of Classic Alfa receipts available covering the following + a few other misc. items:
• Full front suspension rebuild 2020, including Koni classic uprated front shock absorbers, new top arms, FARB polybushes.
• New fuel tank
• 123 Electronic Ignition & HT leads.
• Seat belts fitted
• New engine mounts
• Recent tyres
• New front and rear discs and pads
• Powerlite starter motor
• Manifold-back exhaust system
• Prop centre support & centre bearing
• Prop front doughnut
• Front inner wing weld repair at shock mounting area
• Various hoses, plugs, oils & filter.
• Alternator conversion
• Manifold-back exhaust – now rusty
• Mechanical oil pressure gauge

Not fitted but provided on sale:
• New fuel pump
• Full rear suspension bush set
• New side repeater to replace one missing its lens.
• Pair of weber 40s

Last summer this car did the Classic Alfa Goodwood trackday and was then driven to Switzerland and back without missing a beat. Rear wheel bearings could do with replacement as noisy at speed now.

Car will be available from 1/ 2/ 24 in Vauxhall, London.
