Chassis number BB is one of only five specially built Jolly Team GTV 6 Alfetta competition cars by Alfa Romeo's competition department Autodelta.
With a reinforced chassis, transaxle setup and virtually 50/ 50 weight balance, these Autodelta Alfettas are well-known for their outstanding and forgiving handling, complimented by the reliabile 2. 5 litre V6 Busso engine, ideal for endurance racing.
The exclusive Autodelta components include enhanced brakes, a strengthened gearbox, and a lowered, stiffened suspension featuring center locks, among other upgrades. The fine handling and unbeatable performance resulted in winning the European Touringcar Championship three years in a row.
Chassis BB was under the custody of the Jolly Club S. r. l. racing team in Milan from new until 1997, when the author of the esteemed T33 and GTA books Maurizio Tabucchi adopted the car until 2016.
The race history is remarkable with Group A European Touringcar entries in the eighties at Monza, Varano, Mugello, Magione, Vallelunga, Malegno-Borno and Donnington. Dr. Roberto De Gaetano, endurance racer Duillio Truffo, who raced at Le Mans, in Formula 1 and in Group C, and ninefold Targa Florio and Le Mans competitor Giorgio Schön raced behind the wheel of this car. More recently, BB raced at the Nürburgring twice, in a 2-hour race at Zandvoort and was tested at training sessions at Francorshamps.
