Norvil Norton Commando 750 – Electric Start.
This Norton Commando 750 was built as a new bike by Norvil Motorcycles, of Burntwood Staffordshire, in 2002.
In Norvil’s own words :-
"Les Emery has been building and tuning Norton & Norvil Racers for over 35 years.
Les' speciality is the building of new historically styled Norton and Norvil motorcycles to his clients' own specification.
He can also offer expert advice on what is best suited to his clients' needs & prides himself on his ability to produce a beautiful motorcycle, both visually and on performance."
The bike is essentially a MkII Commando with many of the later improvements incorporated e. g. MkIII switchgear, vernier isolastics, stronger crankcases and gearbox shell etc. Most of the fittings and fixings are stainless steel. It carries a personalised number plate, MK02 COM, that is included in the sale.
I have owned this bike since 2010. At that time, there were only two previous owners and 4, 000 genuine miles on the clock. Since then, it has had the following improvements:
• Alton electric starter (original parts removed for the conversion are included)
• RGM 12” front disc and upgraded master cylinder
• “O” ring drive chain conversion by Norman White
• Scottoiler
• LED headlight
• PCV reed valve
• Dave Taylor head steady
• Don Pender single-cable carb gantry
• New Colsibro valve guides and valves by Mick Hemmings 2, 500 miles ago
