1977 french military parachute regiment harley 125cc
with original front mudguard identification plate
french army/ marines/ parachute regiment harley davidson ss125.
no logbook [ v5 registration document]
has some french paperwork and french reg plate.
i have never seen one before.
was stripped about 20 years ago to be restored.
they started [ shame ] but stopped after they stripped the frame, fenders and tank [ surface rust now ! ]
luckily all other parts original army green.
engine turns over and in one piece.
it has modified remy black out lights as indicators and ignition switch system. very original rare bike. looks to be all there but i didn't take it apart ! lots of marked bags of nuts/ bolts and fittings.
has original french army id plates and front fender plate with original army division.
my uncle was in the french paratroop unit and identified the front plate as :- 6' rpima [ 6 regiment parachutiste d'infanterie de marine]
which translates to :-
6th marine infantry parachute regiment. the regiment was based in mont-de-marsan [ sw of france]. the regiment was created in 1948 and became the 6 rpima in 1958 and was disbanded in 1998. it was an elite corps created as a colonial battalion and changed names several times. it was part of the 11th airborne division.
