Classic GPz900R A1 1984 for sale. I have owned this bike for 21 years and finally had the motivation to restore it after Covid lockdown.

MOT until July 2024 (Done 40 miles since last MOT)
Huge amount of work done which has all been recorded and also the receipts to back this up. Many photos taken during the rebuild which can be passed on if wanted.
Front end has been completely stripped and forks rebuilt with new springs and seals. Anti dive system refurbished and powder coated. All brake calipers professionally stripped and repainted and new seals and pistons. Brake lines renewed. Both wheels stripped back and powder coated and polished on the rims. New wheel bearings and new tyres.
Rear end has been stripped down with swing arm re-coated and new bearings and seals to the linkage system. New Hagon shock fitted. Brakes restored and renewed as front end.
Carbs have been stripped and ultrasonically cleaned. New inlet and engine carb hoses with black clamps fitted. New air filter and spark plugs and HT leads.
Clutch master cylinder fitted with new parts and slave cylinder completely replaced with original Kawasaki part.
Engine oil and filter replaced.
Water radiator & fan replaced with good second hand unit along with new top hoses and new thermostat fitted. Radiator temperature sender replaced.
Bodywork- all panels and tank stripped and resprayed. Fuel tank chemically de-rusted and new pet cock and fuel gauge sender fitted.
New ignition barrel fitted as original was faulty.
Inner fairing panels bought new many years ago and stored away, have been added to the rebuild.
Engine casings powder coated on both sides of engine
Footrest hangers have been polished and black inlay re-painted.
New battery recently fitted and is plugged into battery conditioner.
Original Kawasaki black chrome silencers for the A1 model are fitted. These were purchased by me in 2003 and have been dry stored for most of that time. Condition can be seen in the photos.
I have attempted to restore this bike being as faithful as possible to the original A1 model. The red and grey colours look great.
It is 40 years old this year and in my opinion still rides really well, making me smile whenever I use it.
It still has the original 16” front wheel and the anti-dive system has been retained.
This particular bike does not have the carb icing modification and in my view looks neater around the engine/ carb area.
The black chrome silencers look brilliant and have not discoloured as they have been carefully stored for many years.
The three brake calipers have been restored using the original green coating which was professionally done by a caliper specialist.
The bike is stored in an integral garage and only gets used on dry roads.
I am selling purely because I have achieved what I wanted to do with the bike after 21 years and now think it’s time for someone else to appreciate it.
