RWX 618F Austin Healey Sprite
For sale is this well-presented 1967 Austin Healey Sprite fitted with a Rover K-series engine.
The 1600cc K-series engine has been rebuilt with only testing millage done. It was rebuilt with new pistons and liners, new shells, and overhauled cylinder head. It had a new clutch fitted when the engine was refitted. It has a Ford type 9 5-speed gearbox fitted.
Its sporting 14 inch minilite style wheel which have just had 4 new tyres fitted. It has frontline front suspension, uprated anti-roll bar with rose jointed anti-roll bar links, telescopic rear shock absorbers, rear rose jointed panhard rod, and modified rear springs. The front and rear suspension has been lowered. The front brakes have grooved disks, and the car has braided brake hoses. We have fitted a new master cylinder.
The bodyshell in the past has been completely restored, which has the inside and the underside of the car painted in body colour. Although now presenting well is now showing some signs of age. The front wings have louvers fitted to vent the engine bay.
The interior has one off hand-built bucket seats in the style of 60s racing seats, leather steering wheel, aluminium trim panels, and roll hoop.
The car was taken off the road to have the engine rebuild in 2019, after some work the owner was diagnosed with dementia, after coming to the realisation that he won’t get to drive it, we have had the car in to get back on the road. We have refitted the engine, carried out a complete service and a front to rear check over where it has had anything that it needed. The car now has been recently MOTed by us and has passed with no advisories.
The owner has now asked us to help with selling the car, he would like the car to go onto another enthusiast. Due to the owner’s health, we are advertising and show the car on his behalf, but no warranty is given.
