Rare opportunity to purchase possibly the finest Norvin around. It was featured in Classic Bike Guide in 2012 (copy supplied) and can be found on Youtube by entering "Classic Bike Guide: King of the Cafes". It turns heads wherever it goes. A truly beautiful, reliable, and safe vehicle capable of keeping pace with, and surpassing modern traffic.
As fantastic as the bike was then, it has had a further £6k spent by the present owner on upgrades such as 4 LS front hub, full electrics upgrade including new alternator and rectifier, Lithium battery with charger, Side-stand, discreet LED indicators. The result is, a bike with all the classic features of an iconic machine but with sensible modern additions enabling it to be ridden anywhere and everywhere in the full knowledge that it will get you there safely and reliably.
It was built for the previous owner by David Hailwood of Hailwood Motorcycle Restorations with a 1955 Rapide engine (modified to Black Shadow specifications) and a 1955 Wideline featherbed frame. It is fitted with a 5 speed Surtees replica gearbox and NOC clutch along with an Alton electric starter. It is still in near mint condition after covering only 2880 since it was built in c2009 and is truly beautiful to ride.
This incredible dream-machine is presently in Touring trim (cafe-racer conversion also supplied) and would safely transport the rider anywhere in style or would make a stunning centre-piece to any collection.
A copy of the magazine write-up and short video can be supplied on request.
Beautiful to look at and fantastic to ride.
