outstanding mechanically / excellent classic rider
This is an advertisement for an original Suzuki GT550J, the bike was manufactured in 1972 and is in gorgeous Mauri Blue which is the original Suzuki colour. This bike is a most fantastic ridable classic motor cycle, The engine has been stripped by the experts Alpha classic Suzuki in Somerset, the crank and everything has been replaced as required, it has an accent electronic ignition fitted so runs a sweet as anything, and for those that are knowledgeable it has an upgraded starter clutch so starts on the button as it should.
I purchased this motor cycle from the original owner in the USA while visiting my family out there, it had been parked in a barn for many years and was very dusty and dirty indeed. Once I had seen the bike and realising the rarity and popularity of these early two strokes I purchased it shipping it back home.
It in fact became a lock down project with the bike being totally stripped back to bare frame, given a deep clean and very part was serviced and ready for refitting, as above the engine rebuilt so now a fantastic classic ride.
It has had a repaint so looking gorgeous, the seat base was in great order so just had the saddle rebuilt by experts, the chrome is as per when I purchased the bike I just gave it a proper clean so there are some slight blemishes on rear guard but as pictures show it takes nothing away from the looks, the exhausts are in great shape as well. I have fitted new instrument glass as it had faded from years in the sun stateside. The mileage is totally correct as per shown pictures.
The bike as as near original as possible, I would never describe it as concourse but in excellent condition showing its originality.
This is the last of my classic bikes to go for sale after having family issues and a fall, so my days are over for riding and it would be great for someone to take this bike on and give it the ride that these two strokes need.

I purchased this bike in 2018 after seeing it with original owner having sat in his barn for more years than he could remember.
I have always had these and just sold the big brother the GT750, these early bikes were only manufactured for 11 months in 1972 as a J model with drum brakes on the front. I think these look gorgeous and classic, I have found them great . It is an agile classic ride, sounds brilliant and gets lots of looks
