1981 Mercedes 280 W123 280 TE

I am selling my 1981 W123 280TE - now historic tax status / ULEZ compliant - to me this is a rare and special car, a real achievement of its time.

The engine runs smoothly and maintains excellent power - she absolutely sails along the motorway having the larger engine - clearly built for the autobahn!

Silver blue, blue velour interior, matching hub caps, power steering, electric windows, central locking, excellent heating system and the highly coveted rear facing 7 seats.

The car is garaged and carefully but constantly in use, which seemingly only gets better when regularly driven.

A complete body restoration was carried out around eleven years ago, there are detailed images and notes on work done. This includes any rust under the wheel arches and door skirts, making this a very desirable model to get in and enjoy.

Niggles:

This car is 40+ years old and not of concours standard, so:

- Rubber door seals may need attention.
- Minor chips to paintwork.
- Gear stick vinyl boot is somewhat perished.
- Rear right window switch needs replacement.
- New spheres have been fitted recently.
- I had her serviced and MOT'd (despite being exempt) for peace of mind.
- A few bits and pieces were overhauled recently such as front seat belt tensioners and rear wiper motor.

She is seriously good looking - she will be sorely missed but we need the space.
