Magnette ZB Varitone 1957
According to the BMH certificate it is build 7-13May 1957 and exported to Denmark14th. of May. Restored to concoure condition by myself from nowember 1981 untill June1985. We won a second prize in concoure at Silverstone in 1988, pride of ownership in 1990 and again in 2007.
In 2011 the car was used in a mowie about a famous danish actors live, it was his dayly car.
We have traveled many times in UK as well as in other european contryes partisipating in a lot of MG events.
The car has got regulary maintenance as well as a few modifications, such as a brake servo, an anti roll bar at the front, a 3, 9 rear diff. Stainless steel exhaust, and an alternator. All bushes in the suspenssion has been changed to poly bushes.
The complete brake system was overhauled when I fitted the servo and is now with silicone brake fluid. When the clutch release bearing failed recently the gearbox was inspected by a profesional and found it perfect. The engine got all new bearings together with piston rings, water punp, timing chain and tensioner.. The head was perfect apart from needing a little valve grinding. It is slightly modified for better performance. A 1622ccm was in the car when I bougt it in 1981. It was running quite well so I have kept and been very pleased with it. Apart from a few sensible modifications the car is kept as original as possible and is still in concoure condition. We want to sell it due to the age of my wife and I.
I bougth the ZB because I remember the car from my childhood as such a lovely car. I had a ride in one as a child and many, many years later as a driver and was impressed how well it drives and so easy to drive.
