We would like to introduce you to Vinnie, our very loved 1978 Volkswagen T2 camper van. He’s a nut and bolt rebuild with every extra imaginable. Vinnie would be great for turning up at a wedding or going to a car show but is really a true camping tool with everything you need to hit Europes beaches with a surfboard and camp off grid for months at a time.
With all the modcoms like 240 Volt hook up, fridge, gas hobs, sink, 12 volt lights throughout, thumping stereo, disco lights, solar panel and charge controller and a diesel heater to keep you nice and warm on cold nights in Scotland, as well as a comfy fold out rock and roll bed and a dining table.
We purchased Vinnie two years ago and have had lots of fun trips to Scotland, raves and festivals. We were Vinnie’s 13th owner, you’ll be the 14th. The majority of the work was done on it by a previous owner who was an engineer so it comes with all of the electrical plans and many many receipts and paper work history.
The front seats are from a Golf GTI, it has VW alloy wheels and disk brakes. The engine is new and comes with a new 2 litre straight four engine which sounds amazing and delivers a serious punch. As you can see the engine has shiny bolts on it, this is a nut and bolt rebuild and even has an automatic fire extinguisher above the engine

For full transparency here are the things that need attention in the future. A vintage campervan will always need work done on them heres a list of issues that we know about.:
The underneath looks good, I have a tin of underseal ready but the new owners can have the pleasure of doing that.
The body work has bits of rust that has been sprayed over but it really needs some painting which the new owner can choose the colour.
The rubbers around the windows could do with being replaced at some point
The gear box has a slight oil leak but we’re talking a few drips a month, this is normal in a classic car and is nothing to worry about
The exhaust has a hole in it which adds to the brilliant sound of the engine. This could be welded or a new double exhaust fitted for £300

All this aside, Vinnie is ready and waiting to be picked up to hit the continent today. No tyre kickers please, serious buyers only.

The last fantastic thing I want to say is that Vinnie is road tax exempt and the insurance is under £200 because it’s a classic.

PS: The sills Are in good condition (I know that’s what everyone looks for)
