DKW F93 2-door pillarless coupe by Karmann. Built on 7th November 1958 in Dusseldorf before being shipped to South Africa and registered in 1959. Imported from South Africa in 2019 where prior work to clean up the underside and floorplan, replacement of front window rubber as well as replacing cylinders and rings was done before shipment to the UK. Since then the car has had the following done:
- new brake master cylinder, brake hoses, brake cylinders and pads;
- original new (Munga) clutch and pressure plate;
- reconditioned radiator, cap and new radiator inlet and outlet pipes, new fanbelt and spark plugs;
- choke cable refurbished by Speedy Cables
- brand new hubcap chromed by Derby Plating (£250)
- rims re-sprayed (£320)
- new rubber seal surrounds to external lights and indicators fitted;
- new rubber external filler cap seal fitted
- New rubber boots to drive shafts fitted 3 years ago.
- 6V LED lighting fitted which hugely improves night-time driving and visibility to other vehicles.
- A new battery was fitted two years ago;
- New tyres including the spare tyre, were bought 3 years ago and less than 2, 500 miles has been done on them.
- Since placing the advert, mileage listing has moved on to above 80, 000 miles. And to be clear, while reading 80, 000 and some - with a Deek this could be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time around past this number!

The car is painted a beautiful pearl green colour and the paintwork is very good. Pictures of the car will hopefully show this. While the seats and instruments are all in really good condition, the following can be pointed out as "authentic vehicular patina" which a fastidious new owner may wish to address:
- Roof lining is slightly discoloured and will benefit from a vinyl re-paint;
- the vent controls are worn but new controls have been bought and are being fitted, as will the ventilation control box under the hood.
- The front window rubber replacement was not successful and in rain, there is some leakage to the front left side. The small small side window rubbers need replacing.
- the glove compartment inner box needs replacing;
- the temperature gauge in the main console does not work and a replacement is available (subject to negotiation). A separate, removable temperature gauge has been fitted below the main console.
- the clock does not work and an authentic replacement is available (subject to negotiation).
- Other spares are available subject to negotiation.

I am selling this car as I have bought another DKW and sadly only have space to keep one garaged (as this one has been) since I have owned it.

I bought it because of its beautiful colour and being familiar with DKW's, having grown up with one as a child. It is an affordable classic which has the world's oldest DKW Club and its members as a helpful and reassuring network to deal with spares or repairs advice. This is a really nice car which delivered a problem-free performance on the 2022 international rally to Austria and back. All the original exterior aluminium and chrome trim is as expected for the coupe de luxe model. The interior of the boot has been modernised and is a really useful space for packing on the goodies you need for long-distance travel. As a practical, low-cost classic car, new owners need not approach ownership with as much trepidation as many other, more complex classic vehicles. The car is rare in the UK and a real conversation-starter and head-turner, wherever you go.
