• HISTORY - The car was purchased in Johannesburg last year. Apart from the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin there wasn't any paperwork. It seems the previous owner had started to restore the car and then ran out of funds so the car was left unfinished. The engine is 1779cc the same as a 1750 GT Veloce. The code AR01678 suggests the engine came from a Giulietta or Alfetta 1. 8 Type 116 of a similar age.
• CONDITION - As per the accompanying photographs which were taken on 29/ 03/ 2024 - the car is mostly complete with some items missing. There hasn’t been an inventory done of which parts are missing or what restoration work is required so prospective bidders will have to determine that for themselves during an inspection visit. However, all major items are present including engine, gearbox, prop-shaft, rear axle, front and rear suspension, brake discs and calipers. The vehicle is a full restoration project.
