1973 MG MGB - Price dropped!

A beautiful example of the legendary MGB Roadster. A 1973 model, one of the last original chrome bumper editions. In Blaze Orange with the standard 1798cc engine 95bhp @ 5, 400rpm. Four speed gearbox with overdrive in third gear and fourth gear, which gives it the extra fifth gear. I have owned the car for 22 years and done 30, 000 miles and the previous owner had the car for 9 years.

Unfortunately, we can’t get out as much as we would like so we need to part company and let someone else have the pleasure of this classic sports car. It is mainly original with a few upgrades to increase reliability. Uprated Coil and Electronic Ignition with it all built into the distributor so it looks like the original. New spax rear dampers. New mini light wheels and four good tyres, Avon on the front and Firestone on the rear.

A Tyre pressure monitor is fitted on dashboard which monitors all four wheels and gives an audible tone if pressure falls. The car never leaves it garage if there is a chance of rain and is covered by two protective covers which will be included in the sale. I can’t say it’s never caught the odd shower but predominately it’s dry mileage. It has been professionally undersealed a couple of years ago with Waxoil. It has a stainless-steel sports exhaust which sounds great and is in good condition. There is a CD Player with FM radio and four speaker system fitted. The car has an optimate trickle charger that keeps the battery in good condition whilst it is in the garage, I will include this in the sale.

There is a hidden battery cut off switch to isolate the battery preventing the engine starting but allows a small current through to keep the radio settings. It is a great security feature as the car won’t start without it. I will include the crook lock that fits to the steering wheel. There is a lockable glovebox in the dashboard. I fitted a walnut effect dashboard which is a perfect fit around the clocks and switches. It has a good quality hood rarely used and put up as the car only goes out in dry conditions. I have a full tonneau cover that can be used to cover the car interior without putting the hood up. I will include the picnic blanket and matching orange blanket that fits neatly under the hood cover.

The front suspension, springs and assembly has recently been replaced on both nearside and offside. A new fuel pump and filter was fitted recently. There is a spare wheel (not a mini lite). Jack and tool kit in the boot. I have a range of MG books and workshop manuals that I will include in the sale. A chrome GB badge is on rear adjacent to the numberplate. I have fitted new performance HT leads and sparkplugs. There are air horns fitted playing “colonel bogey”. A digital clock is fitted to the dashboard. I will also include a TomTom SatNav.
