On purchasing the car last year I had a full service, including all fluids and diff oils, carried out and an overall inspection of the car by a specialist to identify issues requiring rectification. It went in for full underbody protection in October. It has just had a new exhaust centre and end piece. Being an XS, it has heated seats, heated front windscreen etc. I had to look at lots of them before I found a car that I was happy with. It remains unmolested as my priority has been to ensure it is in excellent mechanical working order. I have kept the car garaged throughout my ownership. I’d always wanted a defender and finally was in a position to run one as a a 3rd car. When purchasing, my priorty was history and previous owner etc which lead me on a lengthy search. I’ve never had so much positive response from others about a car that I’ve owned. It’s great fun to have. The big appeal for me is that it still has things like original radio code, manual etc and is completely standard. An excellent opportunity for someone to care for a classic or as a solid base to personalise.
