Welcome to the sale of this beautiful 1973 year model Volkswagen Devonette. It has a fantastic history file with it, including its original sales invoice from Cartune (Volkswagen) Ltd in Middlesborough, showing that Mr Frank Whitaker purchased on December 5th 1972 for the princy sum of just £1740. 00. Within the history file we have lots of hand written service receipts, together with the stamped service book & the original Volkswagen instruction manual is still there. It has been loved by just 5 owners in its 52 years & during that time its benefitted from restoration of the body, running gear & interior. As you can see , its a lovely bus, finished in cream with pastel white elevating roof, bumpers and wheels. Sitting above the cab is a lovely 2 bow roof rack & together with the polish beauty rings on the wheels & the alloy step , this all goes to create the perfect classic look. The cab seats are in beige basket weave vinyl, complimented by matching door cards that carry through to the back. You'll notice the steel dashboard has been painted a slightly deeper cream to match the upholstery & looks great . The great thing about the Devonette layout is you can arrange the 2 rear seats to all face forwards, allowing upto 6 passengers to look forwards, or you can have the middle row facing rearwards, towards the other passengers or of course seated around the table when in position.. These seats have been luxuriously upholstered in beige faux leather. The flooring is a sand looking anti slip surface & the curtains and matching cushions are by Orla Kiely. Just inside the sliding door you have the twin hob & stainless steel sink, together with the gas cupboard bellow. It has an electric hook up & even has heating in the rear . So the interior has been really considerately brought into modern comforts , whilst retaining the originality of the camper . Leaving no stone unturned the mechanics have also been refreshed over the years, so it now boasts a 1641cc twin carb engine, with a vintage speed exhaust. It comes with a fresh mot and service, carried out just a couple of weeks ago, so ready for new adventures. Its on the market for £24, 995 & comes complete with an awning, a sun canopy & van cover .
