Jaguar XK120 - fully restored and featuring some tasteful modifications to enhance the driving experience and comfort. Not only does this car look incredible but it drives and handles like a dream.
The car was built in 1954 and was one of the last 120SE models which was exported to the US, remaining over there in a dry state before being imported back to the UK in 1992. The car was then treated to a 'body off' restoration at the world famous Don Law Jaguar specialists.
As part of its restoration this stunning roadster was fitted with a XK 140 steering rack, XK 150 disc brakes to the front and XJ 6 collapsible steering column. The handling was sharpened up with Koni shock absorbers and the all-important new hood .
Moving on to the engine, a 3. 4 ltr mk 2 unit now adorns the engine bay with 2 inch carbs and 6 branch exhaust manifold producing a more appetising 210 bhp in standard form!
More recently the engine had complete rebuild in 2013 by Bradbury Engineering and at that time had a smooth and perfectly matched 5 speed gearbox from a Supra with Realm engineering conversion. This is often regarded as the best gearbox by the JDC.
The stopping power hasn't been forgotten about, fitted with Coopercraft 4 pot callipers on the front .
This car has had constant care and attention, having had a bare metal respray in 2015 to keep the incredibly solid and stunning body in top condition. New side screens and Radtec aluminium radiator were added to improve it further.
Despite its looks this is no garage queen, it has done 10 Lemans Trips and is totally useable in modern day conditions with motorway driving no problem due to higher geared 5 Speed gearbox.
To sum up, this particular car is stunning in every way and will appeal to anyone who is serious about owning a car which drives as good as it looks! The modifications, whilst subtle, enhance the car in every way. A roadster which retains its original silhouette yet has more power, tighter handling, better stopping power and perhaps above all a gearbox that is a joy to work with.
