Stunning combination of Almandine Red with a cream/ mushroom leather interior.
The car is in outstanding condition inside and out and has been dry stored for the last five years with only occasional Spring/ Summer use and regular servicing.
This is a rapidly appreciating classic and examples in this condition are increasingly difficult to find.
The car was featured in Mercedes Enthusiast magazine's December 2010 edition. The article was a five page feature on the "hidden treasure in the 190 line up", the 2. 6.
When I bought the car in 2012 there were one or two minor scratches on the paintwork and the boot lid handle seemed to have come off of W124. In addition to this, bonnet lining in the engine bay had all but disappeared and the wiper motor was lazy and on its way out. Aside from the above, the car was in the state that it left the factory, and with the following option codes:
512 - Radio MB Special
412 - Electric tilting/ sliding roof
470 - Anti-lock braking system C ABS
600 - Headlamp cleaning system
650 - Sportline chassis set-up
341 - Additional turn signal lamps
In the years since I have owned the car I have carried out the following repairs and upgrades:
Interior..
- Cobra car alarm and immobiliser with remote locking.
- One new central air vent and one new driver's side air vent (the old ones were cracked and wouldn't stay in position)
- Pioneer stereo and bluetooth system with new Sony front and rear speakers.
Exterior..
- New (and correct) boot lid handle.
- New chrome rear registration plate surround.
- Minor paintwork repairs.
- A set of four new EVO 1 16x8J allow wheels. These wheels are an upgrade from the Sportline 15-hole 7Js that the car came with. The larger wheels look great on the lowered Sportline chassis.
Mechanical/ Engine..
- New engine bay soundproofing/ lining.
- New upgraded metal thermostat housing.
- New wiper motor.
- Regular servicing at a London MB specialist.
The car was previously owned by a collector and prior to that two other lady owners and based in Poole.
The car saw regulr local use from 2012 to 2018 and has since been garaged with occasional summer use since.
I'm selling very reluctantly as I am relocating abroad later in the year.
