A rare Auto union DKW 1000S 4 door . Even more rare in Right hand drive. Imported from South Africa in 2018 . It is extremely sound body wise as can be seen from the photos . No rust is evident . Engine just rebuilt by Tim Bishop who specialises in DKW . He has two race cars that he campaigns. Work included a new crank shaft, small end rollers gudgeon pins. Clutch . Water rail and carb parts , all at cost of over £2000 . New battery. Also not many miles ago I have invoices for new track rod ends. handbrake cable. Exhaust. Brake master cylinder, rad hoses. some window rubbers, and door rubbers. Wish bone bushes. The car is converted to 12 volts . Good radial tyres . Excellent interior . Now driving well. Good brakes . There are are few things that could be done to improve it . The paintwork looks good from twenty feet , but is not brilliant. The steering column ignition switch is defunct . a manual switch fitted . One sun visor is missing and some of the small rubber seals need replacing . Big history file with workshop manual . V5 in my name .
