A superb example of the Peugeot 309 GTI Goodwood, even rarer still being the more desirable 3 door model. Peugeot built circa 400 Goodwood special edition models, less than 200 were the 3 door variant. This particular vehicle has a not so subtle twist, back in 2005 she was fitted with a 3. 0 V6 engine from a Citroen Xantia. With a few tweeks this Goodwood puts out 200bhp and 197 lb/ ft of torque! Certainly no slouch and makes an incredible noise, a real drivers car.
We have a large file of service bills and parts replacement invoices for the 309 GTI, some of this includes; cambelt kit, water pump, torque technique exhaust, compression test, ECU, K&N air filter, wheel bearings, fuel lines, crankshaft sensor, tyres and lots of servicing invoices. Most recently the cambelt and water pump was replaced in 2021 and in 2023 the underside was cleaned and treated by York motorsport. I have lots of photos and videos of the underside, its incredibly clean with nothing untoward to report at all.
The 3. 0 V6 Xantia engine has an accompanying service book / owners pack and previous MOT's. The service book is complete with 6 service stamps, right up until it was fitted into the Goodwood at circa 70, 000 miles. Current mileage on the 309 GTI Goodwood shell is 72k, current mileage on the 3. 0 V6 engine is circa 80k. All documented in the service history files.
To drive? Absolutely incredible! The 3. 0 V6 not only develops more low down torque for better driveability, but the sound she produces is amazing. Starts first turn of the key, idles well, throttle response is sharp, pulls strong in all the gears, gearbox and clutch is precise and the steering has a lovely weight to it. Certainly lends itself as a proper drivers car.
The bodywork is absolutely outstanding, not a mark in sight worth mentioning, very straight and honest for its years with no nasty scratches or unsightly dents to report. No 'blisters' on the arches or around the sills, the bottoms of the doors are clean, panel gaps all round are perfect, the green metallic paintwork is glorious, no imperfections to mention. This Goodwood is as clean as you're likely to find anywhere. If you can find a Goodwood in the first place! The interior is as Peugeot intended, not been 'stripped' or fitted with bucket seats and roll bars. All the original 'Goodwood' bits are in place bar the gear knob. Original full black leather upholstery is unmarked, as is the headlining, carpets and interior trim.
So there we are! A genuine Peugeot 309 GTI Goodwood, super rare and desirable 3 door model, just 72, 000 miles from new, excellent service records, 3. 0 V6 engine fitted back in 2005, 200bhp - 197 lb/ ft, full service records for donor engine, absolutely impeccable bodywork, incredibly clean underside, new MOT with no advisories and ready to drive away and be enjoyed by its new owner. Well worth travelling to view, we certainly don't think you will be disappointed.
