Manufactured in June 1959, the 190 SL offered here presents beautifully in the classic colour combination of black paint with red interior. The supplied correspondence and copy of the original build sheet from Mercedes-Benz, shows the car was originally supplied to Canada. The car remained in Canada, having reportedly been owned by a single family there before it was imported to the UK in 2017 by Clapham resident Mr. Singh. Mr. Singh, over the next three years, completely restored the car spending over £5, 000 on retrimming the interior including Klaus Hermann carpets and hood, £20, 000 on other parts and almost £30, 000 on a bare metal respray in its original colour of black. The vendor purchased the car from Mr. Singh in 2020 and has enjoyed it as part of his collection ever since. He himself has spent over £12, 000 maintaining and finessing this fine motorcar into what we see today. Reported to run and drive very well, this handsome 190 SL has had a lot of time and money lavished on it since it’s arrival in the UK and is ready to go for the next custodian.
