Description
Lovely old original Chevy 3100, a bit of history on this truck, I imported it around 15 months ago. Registered it so it has number plates and a V5, registered correctly as historic so zero road tax and MOT exempt too. I then sold it, back in March last year to a very nice fella, he paid for it and I subsequently held on to it while he made arrangements for storage his end. Basically fast forward 12 months and it is still sitting under my shed and now due to other commitments/ life issues he is no longer in the position to restore it and has asked me to sell on his behalf.
So... the details-
Original 235 full oil pressure engine 6 cylinder engine
3 on the tree( 3 speed column change transmission)
Original 6 volt electrics with foot start
Originally a green truck, at some stage painted white however white much burnt off by the sun
New Mexico desert truck
Previously I carried out some work to make it start run and drive, new ignition switch, new carb, new fuel pump. Tyres are recent too. Running from remote fuel supply , tank needs cleaning out.
The truck is currently starting on a 12 volt battery, it starts and runs very well, is a lovely quiet engine with no smoke, really all the engine should need is a good service.
The truck drives, goes through the gears but has no brakes. Nothing at the pedal now so will need I suspect master cylinder and possibly wheel cylinders too.
This is a project truck but is a proper running project, you could sort the brakes and just check her over and run around in it while making improvements along the way.
All cab glass I believe will need replacing however it is mostly flat laminated so easy and cheap to obtain from a glazier.
The windscreen is curved though.
Seat will need sorting, new foam/ cover.
HOWEVER THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS TRUCK IS THAT IT IS ROT FREE, YES IT HAS SURFACE RUST BUT ALL THE USUAL PLACES, CAB FLOOR, CORNERS, KICK PANELS ETC WHERE THEY NORMALLY ROT OUT ARE SOLID.
