1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet (Q Code)
This 1969 Mustang has had the mechanicals and interior restored. The new owner can choose how to finish the car, the original colour is Jade Black with a Black bonnet or alternatively this would be a fantastic "Hitman" John Wick car.
The car is registered in the UK and has all the taxes paid.
The engine is a Cobra Jet engine (see picture with "C" on rear of the block) not a 428 out of a truck that can some times happen. The engine has been fully rebuilt in the US before being installed in the car and I have the receipts. I have not been able to find the VIN stamped on the block so the assumption is that this a service block.
I believe the gearbox (C6) has been rebuilt (don't have supporting paperwork) but everything including the plastic screw plugs for the fluid ports indicates it has. It also has a new flywheel and torque converter.
The interior has been restored as per the original specification with a new headliner and Cream \ White Mach 1 interior. This is the factory correct interior finish for the car. The wood finish is the rarer Light Teak option.
The paint code for the car is C M3197 2037 1969 Ford Mustang Black Jade with a black hood.

The car starts and runs and can be put in gear, the car has a temporary carburettor to get it running, a period correct Holley will be provided that will require a rebuild.
There are still some parts required to finish, however 95% + of the parts are with the car.
Completed this rare car would be worth between £80 - £100k depending on the standard of finish. A great opportunity to apply the finishing touches and create the specification of your dreams. This is my favourite Gen 1 Mustang, I believe it was the ultimate Mustang of that period, the 70 car feeling a little heavier and without the the unique quad headlights that was only available in 69. I purchased this car as a box of bits in Denver while living in the US and it was intended to be my keeper, however, things change and I am considering parting with it.
The reason for putting the car together was to understand what parts were missing. There are a couple of minor parts required but the car could be easily put on the road as is. I had considered running the car as a rat rod but decided against it as I would have had to bond the windscreen in which would have meant the new owner would have to replace the screen.
The skins on the doors and parts of the door structure need fixing. The doors are original to the car and still have the riveted Ford plate so I would keep them at all costs and the required work is relatively minor.
