For Sale is my AUDI COUPE GT Fuel injection, 2144cc, Reg Number NMA 55Y, which produces 130 bhp at 5900 rpm, first registered on 1st March 1983. As such it now qualifies for HISTORIC taxation class, which the V5 duly states. As such it is free from an MOT test, Road Tax and indeed ULEZ should you be foolish enough to want to drive the car intro London! It has covered a mere 53, 650 miles in the last 40 years! The car is finished in a gorgeous Sienna Red/ dark red metallic, and has lovely Check Tweed upholstery. It is fitted with the 14" 'Cookie cutter' alloy wheels; has electric windows, rear wash wipe, factory mats and mudflaps. The car is also fitted with the optional tilt and lift steel sunroof. OWNERSHIP HISTORY: The car was delivered through VAG dealership Derek's Service Station on the first day of the new 'Y' registration to a Mr Hughes of Colwyn Bay. He clearly treasured the car judging by the meticulous service record he has detailed in the rear of the service book. He died in 2008 whereby the car passed to a Mr Couturier of Chester who kept the car until 2014, whereby it passed to a Mr Hodgkins who had the car to around 2020, when it was then briefly owned by a My Williams of Hull. The car was subsequently acquired by Absolute Classic Cars in 2021 and sold to a Mr Farndon, who after a year decided that he would prefer a BMW 635CSi and he traded the car back to Absolute Classic Cars, from whom I bought the car in December 2022. It should be noted that of the current 53650 miles, some 47458 of them were done whilst the car was in the ownership of the 1st owner! The Audi has a huge and comprehensive service history and file, all kept beautifully in a large folder, with the original service document fully stamped up. All the old MOT's and tax discs are even present, it is clear the car has been cossetted! The condition of the Coupe is quite simply extraordinary, completely corrosion free, quite immaculate, and it could easily pass for a two year old car, the outside, the inside and the underneath. The paintwork is all original and as shiny and uniform as the day the car was made, quite amazing really. The last MOT tester said that he had never seen anything similar! No corrosion, no unsightly marks, just a really beautifully kept 'timewarp' of a car. All the rubbers trims and plastics are in a similar condition. The wheels are like new, but have been expertly refinished, and finished with a new set of Yokohama 185/ 60/ 14 tyres. The inside is quite simply almost like new, with no wear evident to the quality tweed upholstery. All components are in factory fresh condition. The boot is as clean as a whistle with the full size spare present, and the engine bay also in sparkling clean condition! Obviously the car drives like it would have done when new, and has just passed its (last) MOT with no advisories. This must be the very best Audi Coupe GT in the country. For an example to be better it would have to have been fully restored. However this car is all original which makes it way more valuable than any car that has been repainted of course. They are only original once as the cliche goes! The price represents the condition and is actually less than the sum I paid for the car. In my ownership I have fitted a new exhaust system; new timing belt and water pump, new coolant and a new fuel pump. It was last serviced at 52400 miles. So: an Audi Coupe GT which will provide a good 80% of the fun of a full fat Quattro, but at a quarter or less of the cost! And no VEL/ MOT/ ULEZ, the value will surely increase. And just stood on the drive it is a thing of beauty to just look at. Good value motoring indeed!
