1965 Olds Jetstar 88 Convertible - the only one in the country and only 5 on the Olds Register in the States.
The car was totally restored in 1999 and featured in Classic American magazine - the then owner spent far more on the restoration than the cat would ever be worth, but he loved her - so why not? Since then she's only been out to shows (winning trophies at a couple of local events - including Luton Festival of Motoring last year).
She's a beautiful colour - Ocean Mist with a white electric top (fully working) and the bodywork is lazer straight. There is a tiny crack in the paint in the usual place for convertibles, just behind where the top disappears and a couple of small rust spots in the chrome on the rear bumper. The 330 purrs beautifully and the 2 Speed Powerglide changes smoothly - she'll cruise all day. Never encountered any overheating issues (even when queuing to get into Bushey and Brooklands!) The seats are perfect but the inside of the top is showing it's age and whilst the plastic rear screen is perfectly clear, the zip will need replacing.
The clock works - but the radio doesn't.
We have a liitle 'un who joins us at shows so we had an Isofix bar fitted under the rear seat - nothing can be seen unless the belts are fitted to it.
Spare wheel, tyre, Jack and tools all complete.
Top up or top down she's a great cruiser - and whilst not concours, is a great drive and show car (not for the shy).
Private plate - OLZ 881 included in sale. What makes it unique? it is unique in this country - you are guaranteed to have the only one at any show in the UK (only a handful on the Olds Register in the States.
When the car is on the road she really does get looks, horns and thumbs up from all who pass her, or she passes. She's obviously not a sports car - but if you are into cruising then she'll cruise all day.
