Description

I purchased this bike last year from a collector who had let it go by the way side for about 10 years. It still started, although it was pretty reluctant, but I took it on as I love the original paint and looks. I then had the engine completely restored by a local Indy triumph wizard (new fluids, plugs, ignition wiring etc). it also had a top end job with new high compression pistons, push rods and gaskets. The carb was stripped, rebuilt and tuned. It now starts first kick and doesn’t leak ( I couldn’t believe it either). Pulls well through every gear and all gears select as they should. Other Little bits n bobs that have been done are: new rubber mounts for the tank, new struts to give the fender more integrity, new rear brake switch, hi/ low headlight switch, new kick start arm, new exhaust brackets. I have chosen to leave the aesthetics as they are because, for me, they provide a lot of period charm. The fact that it runs so happily now makes it a dream to ride around the new forest and the coastal roads near me. Purchase in Wales for a collector and enthusiast. It had been in his collection since the 70’s I was told but hadn’t been ridden for about 10 years prior to me acquiring it. It has been for me and my
Partner to enjoy in fair weather but we have since taken on another bike which has proven to be more suitable as we want to be doing more cross country/ continent trips in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and bringing it back to life and would love to see it go to a home where it will be just as appreciated! It has original engine cases and the primary side is showing the thunderbird stamp in all its glory, these are becoming quite difficult to find nowadays. It gets a lot of love wherever we take it and it has never let us down or left us stranded ! I have put quite a bit of time and money into the engine/ transmission so I believe it will be a hassle free classic for its new owner, touch wood !
