The Geoff Buys Cars YouTube challenge car. Just did 2, 700 miles across Europe with no problems, now I'm back home and the car is for sale.
1997 Volvo V70 R Automatic 4-spd factory FWD
MOT until 11th Jan 2025, 193, 000 miles
2300cc Petrol Turbo in iconic Saffron Pearl Metallic
Top spec car with sunroof, air con, cruise control, half leather alcantara and the desirable dolby pro logic surround sound system with CD changer. It sounds superb. 3 CD changer in the front and 6 in the back, although the CD changing mechanism is temperamental.
Standard apart from window tints, which might even be factory (?)
Purchased recently for a 2, 700 mile road trip from Worcester to Malaga and back, the car performed faultlessly. All details are on the Geoff Buys Cars YouTube channel (it was a challenge against a Porsche EV, the Volvo arrived many hours before the EV)
Prior to the trip it had two front tyres (it has a matching set of Kumhos), front pads and one brake calliper. (photos were taken before the tyre lube was cleaned off... it was on the ferry one day later going to France!)
Comes with a big folder of history, happy to deliver, there's a detailed walk around on the YouTube channel.
Would take a cheap car and cash on top if needs be, especially if it's got a Volvo badge.

YouTube . com/ watch?v=EFApvv1ZlZMCar and Classic advises me to 'Tell buyers why they’re going to love it'. Well, it's a V70 R, in Saffron. Everyone stares at it and wants to take pictures, plus at the upper reaches of the speedo and rev meter it is ludicrously fast for a 5 seat estate car. A wagon really shouldn't accelerate from 70 and above the way this one does when it kicks down.
