On offer is my beautiful Jaguar XJR which is presented in the best colour combination of British Racing Green and Oatmeal leather interior. The car is in excellent condition, having covered only 92, 000 miles and is fully loaded with all optional extras. It was fully serviced less than a thousand miles ago including engine oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter and I fitted 8 new spark plugs. I also fitted new front brake pads and discs recently along with rear pads. The tyres all have plenty of tread on them and the 18 inch Asteroid Alloy wheels are in beautiful condition. I have also replaced both in tank fuel pumps with new items as one wasn’t functional when I purchased the car.
The engine bay is in good clean condition, no broken or damaged plastics or clips. The Shock absorbers both have their protective covers present and the air filter housing fastens closed as it should. The original Jaguar toolkit is in its position and looks to be unused.
The 5 speed automatic transmission shifts gears smoothly. The gearbox is actually a Mercedes AMG sourced unit as at the time of production it was the only gearbox that could handle the XJR’s power. Included in the sale is a transmission dipstick.
The paintwork is in beautiful condition, the British Racing Green paint is unmarked and has a deep reflective gloss. There are some age related marks around the car which is to be expected on a 24 year old car, but overall she’s in great shape.
The oatmeal leather sport interior is in excellent condition, the seats have very little wear. The drivers seat naturally has a little more wear then the others, but the bolster isn’t torn or split which is a common issue in these models. The headliner is clean and isn’t sagging which is also another common issue. The carpets are all clean and are covered with tailored floor mats with green piping to compliment the exterior. The wood veneer is all in excellent condition and has a beautiful deep shine, although the gear knob does have some wear to it. The wood and leather sport steering wheel is in great shape and has no signs of wear, all buttons function as they should. The centre console has the deep cubby box so it can be used for storing items. This car has never been smoked in.
The car is fitted with the Premium Alpine sound system which has 10 speakers and a subwoofer which delivers a wonderful crisp sound and can be adjusted to the user’s preferences. The car also comes with factory satellite navigation system which still works and is capable of getting you where you need to go, although the maps are out of date. The electric aerial raises and lowers without any issues.
In the boot we find the 6 disc CD changer and the satellite navigation system. Under the boot floor is a space saver spare wheel and complete emergency kit including Jack, wheel chock and wheel brace. The warning triangle is still in it’s position on the inside of the boot lid.
Other features on the car include automatic headlights, automatic wiper, heated front seats, fully electrically adjustable memory seats, electrically adjustable steering column, heated front screen, heated mirrors, automatically dimming rear view mirror, chrome grab handle finishers, CATS adaptive suspension and the rare option of cup holders.
The car has full service history mostly from Jaguar and two from independent garages. All owners manuals and literature are present with the car. There is only one key and fob with the car unfortunately. I bought this car with the intention of keeping it for myself as a long term project, I’ve owned four X308’s in the past and the XJR was always the dream car for me. I looked for a long time to find one in the right colour and specifications and I purchased this car in November 2023 from a dealership in Belfast. I collected the car and brought it back home with every intention of using the car regularly a contemporary classic car. However I already own two classic cars and I’m in the middle of a huge restoration project on a third vehicle so after covering less than a thousand miles it’s with a heavy heart I’ve decided to part with the Jaguar.
It isn’t fair to keep a car like this parked up, it wants to be driven. The car performs superbly and will show modern sports cars a clean pair of heels. The 385BHP supercharged V8 delivers a punch like no other and the way it feels as it propels you down the road is magnificent, and as you’d expect from a performance Jaguar it handles corners with precision and dignity. The sports seats are supportive yet comfortable and you arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and ready for whatever is next.
This is a true enthusiast car, it’s ready to roll straight into the next car show or event and it will command attention. Everywhere I’ve been in the car I’ve had admiring glances and photos being taken. It is the last of the proper Jaguars and a celebration of an era when we celebrated performance and power.
The car has 6 former keepers according to the logbook. I’m told that the car was bought new by the Chairman of a vending machine company who kept it for a number of years using it to travel around for business. It then passed onto a few other owners until it was bought by an elderly gentleman who used it sparingly and then parked it in a garage from 2012 and didn’t touch it again. In 2022 it was bought by the previous owner to me who used it for a short while before part exchanging it for a commercial vehicle which is how it came to be at a dealership in Belfast. I purchased the car and flew to Belfast to collect the car personally and drove it home in November 2023.
