1957 Ariel NH 350cc Trail Bike
I exchanged my perfectly good 1955 Ariel NH 350cc in standard road trim for the 1957 Trail Bike since I was looking to get back to trail riding in Wiltshire. Sadly, age and my replacement knee had other thoughts and I now wish to exchange back to a ‘normal’ road machine.
This bike is ideal for riding green lanes. It is VMCC eligible and ready for competing in the Cotswold ‘Felix Burke’ Road Trial and would allow the new owner to ride the green lanes with ease. Ditto, the West Wilts Road Trial, with its many green lanes, could be easily ridden.
The bike was constructed by a competent engineer in Chorley, Lancashire and I have been riding it and sorting out some of the problems he had not. For example: It now wears a functioning speedometer, the kick start has been altered to make it easy to start, the side stand has been elongated so it stands more upright, the front tyre has been replaced, I have altered the seat height for people less than 6ft 2in tall to mount it more easily, stopped the primary chain rubbing the chain-case and cleaned the carburettor and points.
I am looking to sell it for £2000 ono, a reduction suggested by the wish to purchase another bike.
The bike is running well, not too fast with the trail gearing and is easy to start. It is still in regular road riding use, so well exercised!
