Here we have a lovely 70’s Karmann Ghia convertible. Arguably the best Karmann Ghia to own as it has the classic looks with later / better brakes and a 1600 engine. This and being right hand drive makes it a delight to drive in the UK
The convertible top with glass back window is in great exterior and interior leak free condition with one very minor tear that can be seen in the pictures.
She has had a recent full engine rebuild to include- bottom end bearing refresh and reset endfloat. New 1600 pistons and barrels and new heads as part of a VW heritage rebuild kit. New solex 34 PICT 3 carburettor and new silencer/ tailpipes, new battery and with refreshed original tin- I have done this for no other reason than I enjoy building type 1 engines!
It sports a lovely set of new sprinstar replica alloys and new 185 tyres that work really well with the body and roof colour combination.
She has a full book of reciepts, MOTs and associated documentation from last owner of 20 years and beyond and has historic tax status.
We purchased her 18 months ago off this owner, a good friend, who owned it for these 20 years to tidy up, refresh the engine and use and enjoy it in the summer. Having had some fun it is now its time to time to move onto my next bucket list car giving the chance to the new owner of using this summer.
She is an older restoration that is in very good condition as she has been stored very well throughout this time but the L32 phoenix red ( more orange to look at) has the odd blemish in the paint, but only if you look hard enough. As part of this restoration it was converted to rhd to a very high standard. It was a Californian car which explains the lack of rot
The chassis and body are in very good condition with no signs of rot or corrosion.
I have tried to describe honestly and the best I can. If you have any questions please ask.
We are overseas until the 25th but I thought I would list now to allow time for people to see pics and arrange to see her.
Regards
Scott
