I have decided to sell my ultra rare Wartburg Knight as I now realise it's probably more than I can attempt myself and I don't have the skills to carry out the work and I have bought another project that will need my time and money.
As can be seen in the photos, it needs a fair bit of work to get it back on the road again, however the chassis is rust free and so is the floor etc, the sills are rusty at the front though and the body panels have tin worm too, however all of them just unbolt and are easily available from Germany along with almost everything else for these cars.
The engine is free and turns over, I haven't attempted to start it, the brake master cylinder is seized and the pedal is solid, there is a replacement with the car, so in theory it shouldn't be too difficult to get it running and driving.
As far as I am able to see, everything is with the car except the exhaust and it rolls with some air in the tyres .
I need to sell it and would rather do so to someone in the UK, they are very sought after in RHD in Germany so it will probably end up going back to it's birth place, would be lovely to see it restored and kept over here.
