Description
This classic Peugeot 205 GL is a hatchback with 4 seats (and an extra seatbelt for a middle seat in the back). It is rust free with only the tiniest bit within the engine bay and little surface rust between some of the doors. It has had 4 previous owners and a manual transmission. The car has a mileage of 97000 and an exterior colour of white which is pretty rare for a petrol base-model now. The interior is grey and it runs on petrol with a right-hand drive. The car is a 1991 model with an engine size of 1. 1L and is Front wheel drive. This car is equipped with a cassette player and comes with a V5C registration document as well as a lot of history. It is a great addition to any classic car collection.
About the engine:
The TU engine range was one of the best Carb based engines Peugeot ever produced, with gear ratios being quite high and where it is so light 0-60 tends to be a lot quicker than on book. Manual choke, and really good miles per gallon (200 miles will sensibly do between a quarter and half of a tank!).
Ownership:
While owning this car i have replaced break pads, disks, calipers, brake fluid/ hose, fuel filter, fuel pump, both driveshafts and seals, wheels to steelies from the XS model, rocker cover seal, had it regularly serviced and worked on. storage improvements on inside of car, new GL imprinted carpets, new gear knob, and new antenna. I also added a cupholder into the interior panel for modern convenience. Bits needing doing will be suspension next I recon.
pressing issues:
Head Gasket is going and is letting air into the system! This needs to be fix asap hence sale price. Needs a new distributor put in as there is a slight leak. Other leak is gearbox oil, despite changing Driveshafts and Driveshaft seals - not entirely sure on where leak could be coming from unfortunately. When undergoing breaking left front wheel makes a noise however believe it to be new break caliper and breaks working their way in.
