Description

P/ EX possible, cash either way. I've had this for a year and haven't driven it! It needs bits and pieces finishing to get it driveable. The pictures were taken 18/ 10/ 24. The engine is fine - a 1998cc straight six. The car is built on an excellent Triumph Vitesse 2-litre Mark 2 chassis, but properly registered as a Moss and is tax and MOT exempt! It's fitted with overdrive. It has new constant velocity joint driveshafts from Rimmer Bros costing £768! Way better than the originals with rubber doughnuts! The tyres are new 185/ 65-14s and I've rebuilt the front calipers with new pistons/ seals. The exhaust (twin pipes) needs connecting to the downpipe and the clutch was draggy (not fully releasing) when I tried it, so it didn't want to go into gear, but it's not stuck, just hydraulics. There's a lot of loose wiring under the dash which needs tidying. I made the grille which looks like a well-known car! It really doesn't need much to get it useable, but I have too many cars and can't cope! It would suit someone who is a reasonably competent DIY mechanic. Every mechanical and electrical spare is available from Triumph specialists, so it won't be hard to keep it going once it's sorted. It may seem expensive for a car that you can't drive away, but it's a six-cylinder with an overdrive gearbox, wire wheels, expensive driveshafts, new tyres and looks like a very expensive sports car. If it was ready to roll, it would be £5K minimum. If I hadn't bought 3 other old cars with problems (I replaced the engine in one), I'd have got it done by now. Looks amazing and will go very well indeed, with every spare part easy to get. UPDATE: I've sold the other three old cars, so if you want this, be quick or I might keep it and sort it myself. I would consider a P/ EX for an exempt classic which doesn't need work. Cash either way. Will sound great. Vintage-style, wind-in-the-hair motoring on a budget. Definitely eye-catching.
