Description
Thanks for all the interest the crazy offers however I could do without.
A space issue drives the sale not my need for money however I’m interested in another project so have reduced the price to £2995. That’s a firm price for cash.
Especially given the following update:
Decided to get it up on a ramp to do my yearly check up…the front springs looked a little brittle so being a belt and braces kind of guy I decided to replace them both as I’m a believer in prevention being better than cure. So as well as the exceptional history you can read about below it has new front springs as well and once more the garage were amazed at its condition.
Recent MOT which runs to April 2027. It flew through as I knew it would with NO advisories at all.
The car is also back from a trip the body shop …. I decided to go all in, but well worth it. So it’s had two NEW front wings as well as the bonnet, bumper and wing mirrors blended in..!!. The car was also fully machine polished. New centre caps and a new rear number plate have also been fitted. Naturally what with the exceptional mechanical history, top spec, low mileage and ownership AND the major paintwork addressed AND a new advisory free MOT the advertised price reflects this. It actually has an excellent MOT history…not the depressingly long list of advisories that you usually find…and the body shop and the test centre confirmed how sound the car is, including underneath. I also recently took it to a local independent Ford specialist to get a niggle with the washer fluid sorted and his words were “It’s in remarkable condition and with this spec pretty rare”
If you follow Scottish Car Clan on Y-Tube he gives a great insight into why older less complicated cars are now in high demand…and this sites % rate increase for this model confirms it.
So: The car:

It's hard to convey just how incredibly amazing the mechanical history is on this car…literally everything that has been needed over the years has been done…previous very wealthy owners used it solely as a second car and had it serviced by Ford main dealers at every conceivable opportunity.... very unusual to find with this degree of maintenance. The service history and works completed are as follows:
24 services in total from the Ford main agent [consisting of regular oil changes and all the various filters] until approximately 40k then most recently an independent.
Serviced at intervals which were apprx:
2k 5k 6k 8k 10k 12k 14k 16k 18k 19k 21k 23k 25k 27k 29k 31k 34k 36k 39k 40k 41k.

At 41405 in 12/ 22 it had cam-belt, tensioners and aux belt.
At 41630 it had a brake fluid change/ thermostat and thermostat housing costing £684.
At 42070 it had a new in-tank fuel pump and a rear window regulator.
At 42140 it had a new YUSA battery with 4 year warranty costing £378.
At 42300 in 10/ 24 it had a auto gearbox flush/ service/ sump kit.

All in all a pretty rare find.
Those who know recognise that the MK 1 Focus is a very well thought of car [this one was built in their German plant] it's well engineered, good to drive and uncomplicated to fix, no DPF or EGR to worry about or overly computerised systems to drain your pocket, very decent MPG and insurance rates and finding one like this with the exceptional amount of history, specification and lavish mechanical maintenance is almost impossible. As they get rarer in my opinion examples like this will only increase in value and as I said this site confirms the trend percentage wise ... One for the Ford appreciation society or maybe the festival of the unexpected awaits…! Will have at least half a tank full of petrol in at purchase as this is how I like to keep my cars.
£2995 Cash on collection/ completion of paperwork…. please try messaging through this site in the first instance rather than phone as I am not always able to pick up calls. Milage may increase very slightly as I’m currently using it on a limited capacity locally.
