Description
One of the few surviving Formel Junior (today Formula 3) DKWs with 1. 0 L and engine from the 3=6 DKW. The formula was developed for up-and-coming Formula 1 drivers and was designed to let drivers prove their competitiveness and talent on a modest budget. The cars raced on the major Grand Prix circuits across Europe and also, to some extent, in the USA. Prominent drivers took part here, who later achieved success in Formula 1. The DKWs were quite successful, not least because of their distinctive front-wheel drive and the high-revving two-stroke engines. Even today there are several events where these cars are wheeled out onto the glorious circuits and driven at racing speeds. A fantastic hobby for the true enthusiast of classic racing cars. Here, the entry price is modest and running costs have remained reasonable as well, making genuine Formula racing accessible in the Formula realm.
