Please note that I am listing this vehicle for my brother. The price has now been reduced by him considerably. It is unlikely it will be reduced much more.
This is my brother's recent description as follows:
Ford Transit Custom, Mk 4 (Smiley). 1997, P Registered, SWB, Luxury Trim. 2 former keepers then myself. 1st owner being Jessops, the retail camera chain (formally owned I believe by Dragons Den star Peter Jones). Second owner was a local upholsterer who I know and who still lives in the same road as myself. I am the third owner and I purchased the Transit as a classic van along with some of my classic cars that I still own. The Transit van has had little use during my ownership and has always been barn stored up until recently. It is now reluctantly being put up for sale as I am having to downsize my collection to raise funds.
The Custom model comes with a luxury interior trim and central locking. It is currently on SORN and will need to be trailered away as the MOT expired quite a few years ago. It will require some welding work including two new front wings. It is currently at a local garage being stored. They have recently fitted a new battery. I need to check if they will be happy to let people view the van at their premises. If not then it will be taken back to my house near Sudbury in Suffolk.
There doesn't appear to be many of these smiley face Transits left which is a great shame as they are excellent vans. Mine ideally needs to be owned by an enthusiast who could use it for shows etc. A bit of period sign writing would suit it really well.
The photos on this listing were taken when it was barn stored, however new photos can be taken quite easily including the interior.
One of these went through Mathewsons Auctions last month and made nearly 4. 5k.
