this is the m sport trim and therefore comes with a whole list of additional options including – m sport body kit, m sport wheels, leather m sport steering wheel and m branded gear knob and sill covers, full leather sports seats with adjustable side bolsters, air conditioning/ climate control, aux in, multifunctional steering wheel.
the car has had an aftermarket limited slip differential fitted at a cost of over £1000 with invoice to prove.
finished in le mans blue metallic – in my opinion, the best colour available.
now… the price. I have priced the car to sell, due to a few cosmetic defects. The left side of the car has had a bit of paintwork in the past, and while it’s by no means a bad job, it’s not a perfect finish. You may not even notice it, but i am a stickler about these things! There is also some light denting on the roof – this i believe was caused by a bike rack or roof bars/ box that was incorrectly fitted. Again, its not obvious, but once you see it you can’t unsee it! The wheels have been refurbished in the past, but are now showing a few light scratches, chips and small curb marks. Please have a good look through the photographs. The interior is in good condition for a car of 17 years of age.
mechanically the car is fantastic. If there is one thing bmw can do well, it’s make a solid 6 cylinder engine – the n52 being renowned for its reliability. The car runs and drives beautifully. Engine, gearbox, clutch, brakes and suspension, all working perfectly. There is however a very slight hum from the drivers’ side rear, i believe this is a wheel bearing on its way out. There is also a very slight oil leak from the cam cover gasket – every single n52 engine has or has had this!
a 6 cylinder engine fitted to a manual gearbox, rear wheel drive, in a coupe body – the perfect combination!
