Description

This is a very important car with great providence and was Coopercraft's (Jaguar) demonstrator vehicle with a nut and bolt restoration completed by them (1987-91). There is a full photographic record of the restoration. It is fitted with Coopercraft special wire wheels, disc brakes and sports exhaust fully tuned developing higher than normal bhp as confirmed by Peter Coopercraft which has increased the speed of the car. The vehicle is also a Michael Hawthorn tribute car
It is the full special equipment model with a manual wide ratio gearbox with overdrive. Chassis and engine number matching and it is both tax and MOT exempt.
The Heritage certificate confirms that the vehicle was sold new by Henleys of London on 22nd August 1956. It still retains its original transferable and valuable registration number of VUO 132. VUO 132.
The car is in good condition throughout and there is a comprehensive history on the car contained in a folder. The car has many lovely features including glossy black finish with red leather interior with special union jack cushions. It has a manual 4 speed gearbox with overdrive, independent front suspension with double wishbones, coils springs, telescopic dampers, anti-roll bar, special wire wheels and disc brakes. It is fully waxoyled. There have been 6 previous owners and the car has covered only 65000 miles.
The history information I have includes the current and previous V5’s, the original buff log book, current and previous MoTs, tax discs from 1958, Penrite oil service book, invoices for work carried out not incl restoration over £12, 000, Jaguar Heritage Trust letter and Certificate number 8186, Insurance docs, pre and post restoration images, list of previous owners, 6 page road test report 25th July 1956, original and copy sales brochure, chassis lube service sheets, lubrication chart, Owner’s Handbook, Haynes Workshop manual, Jaguar Driver's notification, enthusiasts magazines, Wikipedia report, various correspondence, write up on John Coombs of Coombs of Guildford.
It is overall a lovely vehicle which is well fettled.
This car was part of my own collection and is for sale only due to my recent retirement.
