An exceptional RHD CX GTI TURBO, MoT May 2026, with leather and A/ C, which has been comprehensively restored, overhauled and upgraded providing an ‘as good as new’ driving experience.
CX Series 2 car Manufactured in 1985 (1986 model year) and first registered in UK. I am the owner since 2018 and have carried out an extensive improvement programme to put it in A1 condition.
EXTERIOR
Rouge Delage paintwork, including body-coloured bumpers, recently detailed to a high standard. New 16” TURBO wheels by FraBuClassic GmbH with 205/ R16 Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 tyres. New original spec spare.
Re-silvered headlights, new fog lights, new front indicator / sidelight units. Upgraded remote-control central locking.
INTERIOR
New original spec Turbo leather seats, door cards and rare front centre armrest. Additional soundproofing to all doors, inner rear wings and boot area. New window seals.
A/ C installed (not fitted originally) R134a compliant with new uprated condenser and new heater matrix. Bluetooth radio, upgraded door speakers and discreetly mounted rear shelf speakers.
ENGINE AND COOLING
Full cylinder head and block overhaul 3500 miles ago. New radiator. Full stainless-steel exhaust. New starter.
STEERING, SUSPENSION, BRAKING AND DRIVETRAIN
Reconditioned (Pleiades) DIRAVI control unit and new steering rack.
New rear arm bearings with lubrication nipples. New front suspension cylinders, new ball joints top and bottom, new drop links. New front and rear spheres. ABS system overhauled. New front discs. New clutch and thrust plate.
STRUCTURE
Underside corrosion repaired to high standard on rear subframe, rear o/ s jacking point, front o/ s floor, battery mounting plate, n/ s front sill.
AND FINALLY
MoT until May 2026. NB The MoT test states 'hydraulic leak' rear height corrector. On inspection the height corrector is fully serviceable and dry. The moisture on it is, in fact, cavity wax from generous application!
This CX now looks, feels and performs as it would have done when it was new. All invoices and receipts from 2018 onwards available.
All in all an outstanding car which has reliably taken me on incident-free journeys, including around France, in comfort and at pace, and which will serve a new owner well for many years to come. I’m selling to rationalise collection.
