MOT exempt
Garaged & cherished by female owner for over 20 years
Engine rebuilt with new clutch in 2021. The timeless Morgan 4/ 4 - beautiful looks, easy to drive and the ability to put a smile on your face whenever you're behind the wheel.
The Morgan 4/ 4 remains instantly recognisable since it was introduced in 1936. This March 1977 registered 4/ 4 has the reliable Ford 1. 6 litre single overhead valve engine. It emits a healthy rasp which should come as no surprise as it was subject to a total rebuild in February 2021. This included replacing all the core plugs, new crankshaft pulley, seals, gaskets, water pump and clutch. The car has been used sparingly since but the current owner, a professional in the car restoration business has refurbished and resprayed the bulkhead resulting in a well presented engine bay.
A fully folding hood and tonneau are included and their red colour contrasts superbly with the black bodywork giving this Morgan an imposing presence. Small and nimble yet the Morgan is an immensely practical classic with room behind the seats for a couple of overnight bags as well as additional space on the chrome luggage rack. This, along with the badge bar displaying AA and Morgan Sports Car Club badges, wire wheels and Union Jack flag on its flanks add to the classic appeal of this Morgan.
On the road the car inspires confidence and you feel totally at ease in modern day traffic. Looking down that louvred bonnet held securely by the leather strap and hearing the crisp exhaust note it really is a joy to drive.
This 4/ 4 isn't a 'concours queen' but it has been cherished by all its previous owners and has now obtained a lovely patina. Never restored but 'on the button' this Morgan wears its age with pride and is priced accordingly.
Taxed as a historic vehicle, MOT exempt and with its rebuilt Ford engine means this Morgan would be a highly economical classic to use as an every day car. It's ready for immediate use but can be improved upon as and when the new owner feels inclined.
A bulging history file containing the original owners handbook, numerous invoices and letters of correspondence with The Morgan Sports Car Club accompanies the car.
