A sport touring bike with a classic engine - the 996cc 4-valve Desmodronico that powered multiple World Superbike Championships.
The bike is in good condition but does need some mechanical TLC. Last MOT was Feb 2022, with a new tyre advisory, and new belts were last fitted Jan 21 - though the bike has not been ridden since then.

The only cosmetic issues are scrapes to the left wing mirror and handle-bar tip, and a slight knock to a rear indicator (which works fine). One fender above the wheel has been replaced due to a broken clip on the original (which can be provided). The bike comes with original panniers as pictured. I have a black key, keys for the panniers and the red (master) key. The spare black key is present but has been bent out of shape unfortunately (pictured). Original service booklets along with many of the service invoices will be provided (examples pictured).
As it has been sitting in a garage unused since its MOT in 2022, it will need an MOT, battery charging, new tyres, and at your discretion, new belts. Estimated cost for this work £750-£1, 000 - hence the proposed price for a bike that could command c.£2, 500-£3, 500. There is a workshop close by who would collect and complete this work if necessary.
The ST4S is a rare find these days - just 32 still on the road (124 SORN) - and it is an absolute beauty & beast. Incredibly rapid, sounds fabulous at higher revs, and runs a dream, turning heads as you go. Great for cruising, and surprising the newer bikes when you feel like showing your speed. When new, it could handle 0-60 in just over 3 seconds.
Like many classics, it is relatively expensive to own - regular (preferably annual) belt changes and servicing - but the rewards are worth it. Compared with other examples of the bike, it has a relatively high mileage, but is in good condition mechanically since the dealership acquired and thoroughly serviced it. I have a very detailed service history for the bike, both from my time owning it, and from before. There are gaps, but it has been well looked after, particularly since it was acquired by the Moto Rapido workshop in Winchester, who fully serviced it prior to selling it to me.
I bought the bike because I wanted to own a Ducati, and this is just about the most affordable way to ride the famous Duke red, with a Championship winning engine to boot. It sounds fabulous from the moment you start it up, and turns heads wherever you go. With only 32 out on the road, you won't meet many others except at classic meets - and the other new Ducati riders will enjoy seeing you roll into those biker cafes on a sunny Sunday morning.
