HISTORY
The car was purchased new from then Caterham dealer Classic Carriage Company and registered for the road on April 1st 1995
Three previous owners as follows:
First owner - 01/ 04/ 1995- 03/ 06/ 2021 – 26 years, 3 months
Second owner - 04/ 06/ 2021 -15/ 08/ 2021 – 2 months
Third owner - 16/ 08/ 2021 – 17/ 09/ 2024 – 3 years, 1 month

SPECIFICATION
The third owner, a well known Lotus 7 club member, bought the car in 2021 and set about a two year major overall and refresh of what was a very original low mileage example
The car was essentially dismantled, cleaned, refurbished, upgraded and put back together
Highlights of the rebuild are:
- Engine – Full professional engine rebuild and upgrade of the original 1600cc engine to 1700cc fast road spec. 10. 5:1 compression ratio, Accralite pistons, 244 cam, lightened flywheel. This work was carried out by race engine builder CKM. A recent rolling road session gave 163bhp at the flywheel
- Carburettors – The original Twin 40 DCOES’s full professional refurbishment by Weber Carb Reconditioning Services
- Ital axle – Refurbished by Hardy Engineering and upgraded to include a new Quaife ATB to handle the extra power from the upgraded engine
- Chassis tubes- Found to be in excellent original condition, a few small areas of surface rust repainted with POR-15 paint
- Front suspension – Refreshed with new bearings, trunnions and track rod ends
- Brakes- Front calipers refurbished with new seals, new rear brake cylinders, new front pads and brake fluid change
- Bodywork -Nose cone, front and and rear wings professionally repainted
- Tyres – Four new Avon tyres fitted
- New hi-torque starter motor fitted and wiring updated to remove starter solenoid
- New propshaft UJ’s.
- Dampers – Professionally checked and found to be working well
- Boot floor sanded and revarnished plus new boot carpet
- New tunnel carpet and floor mats
- Full clean and polish from top to bottom
CONDITION
The car is now in excellent condition throughout as you would expect given the time and money spent . There are a few age related blemishes but this does not detract from the overall appearance which is superb.
SUMMARY
This is an excellent example of an original low mileage, low owner car which has been thoroughly refreshed and upgraded.
There is comprehensive paperwork for work carried out and the cars history, the log book is correctly updated to show 1700cc
Now over 30 years old, it may qualify for historic status in certain overseas countries
